Multan Sultans continued their impressive run in Pakistan Super League 2026 with a convincing seven-wicket victory over RawalPindiz at Gaddafi Stadium.
Chasing a target of 183, Multan comfortably reached 184/3 with 22 balls to spare, thanks to a strong batting performance after an early setback.
The innings began with a quick blow as Mohammad Amir dismissed Steve Smith for just 5. However, that proved to be the only major breakthrough for RawalPindiz during the chase.
Multan took control through a dominant 110-run partnership between Sahibzada Farhan and Josh Philippe. Philippe scored a quickfire 56 off 30 balls, while Farhan added 68 off 36 deliveries, hitting multiple boundaries and sixes to put the game out of reach.
After their departure, Ashton Turner and Shan Masood finished the chase with ease, adding an unbeaten 47-run stand. Turner smashed 26 off just 10 balls, while Masood contributed 27 off 15.
For RawalPindiz, Amir was the standout bowler with figures of 2 for 32, while Mohammad Amir Khan picked up one wicket.
Earlier, RawalPindiz posted 182/8 after being put in to bat, anchored by an unbeaten 56 from Sam Billings. Contributions also came from Kamran Ghulam (35) and Dian Forrester (24), but the team struggled to build sustained partnerships.
The standout performance with the ball came from Faisal Akram, who claimed 4 for 31 and disrupted RawalPindiz’s momentum. Arafat Minhas took two wickets, while Peter Siddle and Muhammad Ismail chipped in with one each.
The win keeps Multan Sultans firmly at the top of the points table, while RawalPindiz face mounting pressure after another defeat in the tournament.
