Multan Sultans are expected to carry a base price of around Rs. 160 crore or higher if the franchise is offered for a fresh sale, with Pakistan Super League management confident the final value could cross Rs. 200 crore during the auction process.

The discussion took place as the PSL Governing Council continued deliberations on key matters ahead of PSL 11, including franchise-related issues and proposed changes to the player recruitment system. These topics were reviewed during a meeting held on Friday at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.

The session was chaired by Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, and was attended by representatives of all eight franchises along with senior PCB and PSL officials.

According to details from the meeting, the council welcomed the new owners of the Hyderabad and Sialkot franchises and praised the successful completion of the new teams’ auction, calling it a key milestone in the league’s expansion.

A major part of the discussion focused on player retentions and a proposed hybrid recruitment system, informally referred to as a “drauction,” which would combine elements of both an auction and a draft. The possibility of allowing direct player signings was also reviewed, along with planning for the upcoming season’s schedule.

Officials confirmed during the meeting that PSL 11 will begin on Thursday, March 26, with league management describing the upcoming season as the start of a “new era” for the tournament.

The meeting concluded with the formation of a working group tasked with reviewing unresolved agenda items. The Governing Council is expected to reconvene after receiving the group’s recommendations.
