Pakistan Super League has granted a special Rs. 1.2 crore salary cap increase to the Multan Sultans as the league officially opened its transfer window ahead of the 2026 season.

In addition to the higher salary cap, the franchise has also been allowed to make two extra player signings after the league cited “exceptional circumstances” related to the team’s acquisition. The decision was made with the consent of the other PSL franchises.

With the additional signings permitted, Multan Sultans’ maximum squad size has been expanded to 22 players.

Despite the larger squad limit, the franchise will still have to follow the standard matchday regulations. Like other teams in the league, it will only be able to name a 20-player matchday squad.

The announcement comes as the PSL 11 transfer window has opened, allowing franchises to complete player transfers under league salary cap rules until March 18.

Multan Sultans have already started strengthening their squad for the upcoming season by signing two local fast bowlers, Muhammad Ismail and Arshad Iqbal.

The franchise is expected to announce two additional signings in the coming days as it prepares for the 2026 PSL season and aims to secure its second PSL title.
