Multan Sultans have responded to the legal notice issued to them by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The PCB had sent a notice last month, asking the franchise to apologise and take back the statements made by team owner Ali Tareen. The board also warned that the agreement with the Sultans could be cancelled if the conditions were not met.

In their response, Multan Sultans said that Ali Tareen has invested billions of rupees in the team since taking ownership and has personally faced losses of more than Rs7 billion. The franchise added that Tareen worked to promote cricket development by establishing academies and offering opportunities to young talent across the country.

The team explained that Ali Tareen’s remarks were intended to highlight areas for improvement in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). They expressed disappointment that the PCB interpreted constructive feedback as wrongdoing. The franchise called the board’s reaction regrettable and said it reflected a narrow approach.

Multan Sultans stated that discouraging open and honest opinions is harmful to the growth of a professional league. The franchise added that Ali Tareen remains fully committed to the progress of cricket in Pakistan and will continue supporting the sport.
