Anwarul Haq, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman, has directed that heavy traffic be allowed to use the Bhara Kahu bypass and Karnal Sher Khan Road, formerly known as I.J. Principal Road.
At a civic authority meeting, the CDA chief voiced his disapproval of these two projects being closed to heavy traffic. It is important to note that billions of rupees were spent on each project.
After all the extra work is finished, the Bhara Kahu bypass will cost an astounding 8 billion rupees. A consultant is reviewing the additional work, which could come at an additional cost of Rs. 1.5 billion.

Speaking to a national daily, a CDA representative explained that the two highways were closed for technological reasons. He continued by saying that the bypass road had to be closed due to its numerous sharp turns, which could be hazardous for huge trucks traveling quickly. But now, it has been agreed to erect speed limiters and signboards and send out traffic police officers to address the problem.
The CDA chief also ordered to permit high traffic on Karnal Sher Khan Road. The conference was informed that a flyover on the route near Sabzi Mandi was closed due to a landing issue on a regular road.
After it landed on ordinary roads instead of rigid lanes, it was discovered that heavy traffic occupied the space intended for light traffic on the flexible lanes. The conference voted to remove all of the encroachments after it was determined that they were the cause of the problem on both sides of the road.
