Murree Rest Houses Given to Tourism Department
Lahore: As part of an agreement to promote tourism while generating income from the already-existing government infrastructure, the Forest Department has given the Tourism Department control of its three rest houses in Murree.

The two departments signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). The ceremony was attended by a number of people, including Forest Minister Sibtain Khan, Tourism Adviser Asif Mahmood, Tourism Secretary Ehsan Bhutta, Forest Secretary Javed Iqbal Bukhari, and others.

According to the agreement, the rest homes will be upgraded to include a hostel, kids’ play area, food court, and other amenities to draw tourists, and the revenue from these upgrades will be split between the two departments.

Several public rest houses have been entrusted to the TDCP to be made available to the public, it was stated at the time. Moreover, floating restaurants will be built in the Indus River’s Kalabagh region to enhance domestic tourism.
