Musa Maneka, who was detained in a shooting incident at his father Khawar Farid Maneka’s residence after the plaintiff failed to identify him as the gunman, has been granted bail by a Pakpattan local court.
The complainant provided an affidavit during the court hearing, claiming that Musa Maneka, the son of Khawar and former first lady Bushra Bibi, was not the shooter and that his name was misplaced in the case.
The affidavit states that it was challenging to identify the real attacker because they were wearing a mask at the time of the shooting.
The complainant further acknowledged that his name was incorrectly obtained and that Musa Maneka did not fire any bullets.
He went on to say that he would not oppose if the accused was found not guilty or granted bail.
The court granted Musa Maneka bail after considering his updated statement and ordered him to provide a Rs 100,000 surety bond.
A shooting incident inside Khawar Maneka’s dera (outhouse) in Pir Ghani, Pakpattan, on July 17 left one person hurt and resulted in his son, Musa Maneka, being taken into custody.
Initial reports state that Musa Maneka allegedly shot the injured kid, identified as Ali Bahadur, following a violent altercation. Rescue crews arrived on the scene quickly and took the injured to a nearby hospital so they could receive medical attention.
