NAB Recovers Rs440 Million in ‘Model Housing Scheme’ Scandal
LAHORE: In a well-known corruption case involving the proprietor of the Model Housing Scheme, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in Lahore has successfully collected Rs. 440 million.
The Accountability Court in Lahore has finally authorised the sale of the 22 kanal of land for Rs. 440 million that the NAB had earlier blocked as part of the probe.
The remaining Rs390 million is likely to be received within seven days, and Rs50 million will be placed in the name of the NAB chairman, per the court’s directions.

It is important to note that NAB Lahore filed the original corruption reference and charged the proprietor of the housing association with defrauding the general public.
About 275 victims came forward to claim their money during the inquiry and investigation, showing the scope of the fraudulent acts involved.
The housing society owner was named as the main defendant in a corruption reference that NAB filed in the accountability court in Lahore in 2019 after a comprehensive investigation.
Now that the property sale has been approved, the money that was recovered will be divided among the 275 victims in an effort to make up for their losses.
