Pakistani actress Nadia Jamil has sparked nationwide conversation after speaking out about the growing issue of child prostitution in the country. In a viral video shared on social media, she questioned why public debates often focus on LGBTQ rights while the sexual exploitation of minors remains largely ignored.
Addressing a group of young girls, Nadia highlighted the harsh realities of child abuse in Pakistan. She cited investigations in Lahore and other cities that uncovered nine child prostitution dens through hidden camera footage, where children aged 7 to 16 were reportedly being exploited. Nadia described the findings as “heartbreaking” and urged society to pay attention to this silent crisis.
The actress emphasized that child abuse is not limited to prostitution dens. She revealed that minors are also being exploited at truck depots, coal mines, factories, schools, and even within homes. Many of the children reportedly accept their circumstances as unavoidable, showing how normalized the abuse has become in some communities.
Becoming emotional during her speech, Nadia questioned society’s selective outrage, asking why more people raise their voices for other causes while remaining silent on child exploitation. She called for urgent awareness and action, stressing that protecting children should be a top priority for the country.
Her remarks have reignited discussions about child protection and the need for stronger measures to combat sexual exploitation in Pakistan. Authorities and civil society groups are being urged to address the issue before more children fall victim to abuse.
