The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has expanded its mobile biker service in Karachi, increasing the number of motorcycles from three to eight to provide doorstep CNIC services more efficiently. According to Aamir Ali Khan, Director General of NADRA Karachi Region, residents across all districts of Karachi can now access services such as CNIC renewals, issuance of registration forms, and other related facilities without needing to visit physical offices. This initiative is especially beneficial for individuals who face challenges in visiting NADRA centres, including the elderly and women. The announcement was made during a roadshow promoting the Pak ID mobile application, which is part of NADRA’s broader effort to digitise identity services across Pakistan. Alongside this, NADRA has launched a city-wide awareness campaign targeting universities, schools, and shopping malls to encourage public adoption of the Pak ID app and digital registration processes. The app allows users to apply for new CNICs, renew existing ones, upload documents, and track application statuses—all from their smartphones. To enhance the user experience, NADRA has also upgraded the Pak ID software, resolving previous technical issues and ensuring smoother, faster service delivery. This expansion of mobile services and digital platforms reflects NADRA’s commitment to improving accessibility, reducing physical queues, and promoting e-governance across urban centres.
