Veteran theater actor and comedian Naseem Vicky has spoken openly about the struggles of stage performers, saying many girls and even male dancers are forced to perform out of compulsion rather than choice. He shared emotional details about the financial and personal hardships faced by those in the theater industry.

In a recent podcast, Naseem Vicky explained that performers often take the stage because of family responsibilities. “If the theater remains closed for even a week, those dancing on stage may go hungry at home. Some girls have a sick parent, others have to feed their children; everyone has a story,” he said.

The actor also revealed that the Punjab government’s ban on dance in stage plays caused him huge financial losses. “I suffered a loss of up to 8 million rupees in seven months. I can even show my bank account details to prove it,” he stated. Naseem Vicky criticized the authorities for imposing bans without offering solutions, arguing that such decisions only harm those struggling to survive.

Talking about his personal life, Naseem Vicky said his wife was once a stage actress but left the theater after marriage to become a housewife. He added that he will not allow his children to join the theater because of the industry’s hardships and wrongdoings. His son is currently studying in London, his elder daughter has become a psychiatrist, while his younger daughter is still in school.

He further said he avoids introducing new girls into the theater, choosing instead to work with actresses already active in the field, to protect newcomers from potential harm. Naseem Vicky stressed that critics often fail to understand the financial and family pressures that force many to step on stage.
