National Security Comes First COAS Asim Munir

Islamabad: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir has reaffirmed that national security remains paramount, asserting that no individual or movement stands above it.

Addressing the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, General Munir emphasized the necessity of unity and harmony among all elements of national power to achieve lasting stability in Pakistan.

The army chief underscored the need for better governance, urging Pakistan to shift towards a “Hard State” model instead of continuing to operate under a “Soft State” framework. He questioned how long the country can endure the sacrifice of innocent lives without adopting a firm national stance against security threats.

General Munir also called upon religious scholars to actively counter the distorted interpretations of Islam propagated by extremist elements. He stressed the importance of a unified national narrative that transcends political and personal interests to safeguard Pakistan’s security.

Sending a clear warning to anti-state elements, General Munir vowed to defeat terrorists and their facilitators, reaffirming that the Pakistan Army will not allow any force to weaken the country.

Expressing strong faith in Allah, the COAS concluded on a note of resilience, asserting that Pakistan will overcome all challenges and emerge stronger.

This powerful statement by the army chief reflects the military’s unwavering commitment to national security, counter-terrorism, and governance reforms—critical elements for Pakistan’s stability and progress.
