National Strike by Petroleum Dealers Delayed for 2 Days
The Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA) has postponed a two-day strike that would have resulted in the nationwide closure of gas stations.
Musadik Malik, the state minister for Petroleum, was consulted for this decision. Musadik Malik reportedly traveled to Karachi in an effort to end the statewide strike by convincing the PPDA.

The PPDA said that they will delay the strike by two days so that they may perhaps undertake further negotiations with the administration. In response to the inflation situation, the PPDA had earlier threatened a statewide suspension of gas stations beginning on July 22.
The association noted a reduction in sales and the impact that Iranian gasoline smuggling has had on its operations. In order to resolve their concerns, PPDA has requested that the dealership margin be examined.
