Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that dismantling Iran’s nuclear program remains Israel’s top strategic objective, vowing to stop Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons under any circumstances. Speaking during a media conference and to a British news outlet, Netanyahu emphasized that Israel is “on the path to victory” amid the escalating conflict with Iran.
Netanyahu claimed that the Israeli Air Force has achieved “complete control of Tehran’s airspace” and destroyed hundreds of Iranian rockets and missile launch pads. He asserted that Israel is reshaping the security landscape of the Middle East and will not permit Iran to continue its pursuit of nuclear capabilities.
The Israeli leader also accused Iran of actively developing long-range ballistic missiles and supporting militant groups throughout the region. “Reducing the threat of Iran’s missile and nuclear programs is our top priority,” he stated.

In a controversial revelation during an interview with ABC News, Netanyahu did not deny reports suggesting Israel had considered targeting Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, a plan allegedly rejected by former U.S. President Donald Trump. Netanyahu responded by saying, “It’s not going to escalate the conflict, it’s going to end the conflict.”
He argued that Iran’s regime has fueled decades of conflict in the Middle East and continues to push the region toward the brink of nuclear war. Drawing historical parallels, Netanyahu said, “We’ve targeted their top nuclear scientists. It’s basically Hitler’s nuclear team.”
Netanyahu also spoke of close coordination with Donald Trump, revealing daily contact and praising the former U.S. president’s unwavering support. Warning about the global stakes, Netanyahu said, “Today, it’s Tel Aviv. Tomorrow, it’s New York,” emphasizing that Iran’s actions pose a direct threat to the West.
Addressing reports that Iran is signaling readiness for renewed nuclear talks, Netanyahu dismissed the idea as disingenuous. He accused Iran of using diplomacy as a cover to continue its nuclear and missile development programs while misleading the international community.
