Soon after taking office, Sohail Afridi, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, took notice of the arrest of Sanam Javed, a member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The chief minister reportedly called the Inspector General of Police to his office on Wednesday and asked for a report on the issue. He gave the police chief until the next day to turn in a thorough report.
In a previous event in Peshawar, Sohail Afridi was sworn in as the chief minister. The oath was administered by Governor Faisal Karim Kundi of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
