Officials revealed Thursday that nine passengers, all from Punjab, were ruthlessly shot dead after being kidnapped in the Loralai district by Fitna-ul-Hindustan-affiliated terrorists.
The event happened close to the Dakai crossing on the National Highway that connects Loralai and Musakhel, according to Loralai Commissioner Saadat Hussain. The victims got off a passenger bus and were abducted.
“The passengers were intercepted by armed attackers who segregated them according to their identities and removed them. The commissioner informed the media that their remains had now been found.
Usman and Jabir Toor, brothers who were residents of Dunyapur, were recognised as two of the passengers. According to reports, they were returning home for their father’s funeral after living in Quetta for employment.
According to earlier reports, Fitna-ul-Hindustani terrorists kidnapped multiple passengers from passenger buses in Kalat, Mastung, and Loralai.
The provincial government spokeswoman stated that a search effort was initiated in the impacted areas to securely retrieve the passengers who had been kidnapped.
Police sources confirmed that the attacks took place on Wednesday. Security forces reacted swiftly and forcefully at all three sites, according to Balochistan government spokesman Shahid Rind, who also verified the attacks.
Rind stressed that every attempt was being made to secure the release of the abducted passengers and that the military was on maximum alert to protect civilian safety.
The protection of citizens continues to be the government’s primary concern, he stressed, and security personnel were engaged in intense operations against terrorists.
