Notifications Served to 289 Illegal Housing Schemes in Gujranwala
Gujranwala: According to a news source, the 289 illegal housing schemes in the Gujranwala Division have received legal notifications from the Gujranwala Development Authority (GDA), according to Director General (DG) Maqbool Ahmed Majoka of the GDA.

The DG presented this information at a briefing given to Gujranwala Commissioner Zulfiqar Ahmed Ghuman on the situation of unlawful housing developments.
The commissioner instructed the GDA to initiate a crackdown against all unauthorized housing developments in the division during the briefing. Important representatives from the departments of tax, town planning, and commissioner office attended the brief.
In his remarks to the audience, Commissioner Ghuman advised against purchasing plots in housing developments based solely on the approvals of their early plans. Investments are secure in a society that has received the NOC and final permission from a reputable institution, he continued.

The commissioner gave the concerned sub-registrars orders to suspend the sale and purchase activities in unlicensed and/or illegal housing plans right away in order to address the issue.
He also stated that until their developers obtain the GDA and other agencies’ approval, all utility service providers must cease supplying their respective services to illegal housing developments.
