NPMC Reviews Price Trend of Essential Commodities
Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, presided over the National Price Monitoring Committee’s (NPMC) weekly meeting, which was held in the Finance Division.
During the previous week, NPMC analysed the price trends of key commodities, focusing on wheat flour, sugar, tomatoes, vegetable ghee, poultry, and eggs.

The weekly SPI showed a drop of 0.57%, with prices falling for 7 basic goods and holding steady for 18 others.
Hammad Azhar, the minister of industries and production, informed the audience that the ministry is already developing a number of strategies to provide ghee and oil at competitive prices.
Additionally, the Utility Stores Corporation would make sure that ghee was available at a discounted price through its network of stores during the holy month as part of the “Ramadan Relief Package.”
The Finance Minister continued by reiterating the Government’s commitment to offering the greatest amount of help to the populace through the provision of essential goods at reasonable costs.
