Pakistani security forces successfully intercepted and destroyed six Indian drones on Friday in a continued escalation of aerial violations across Punjab province. The latest incidents raise the total number of downed Indian drones to 35, according to official military sources.
The Israeli-made drones were brought down in coordinated operations across the Okara, Pakpattan, and Vehari districts. Four drones were neutralized in Okara, while one each was intercepted in Pakpattan and Vehari. Security officials confirmed that the drones had entered Pakistani airspace and were tracked via advanced radar systems before being engaged and destroyed.

A military spokesperson emphasized that Pakistan’s air defence systems are fully capable of detecting and eliminating even small aerial threats. The response followed strict operational protocols, especially in areas near urban settlements and commercial flight paths. No casualties were reported in the latest incidents, as the drone wreckage fell into agricultural zones close to villages 154L and 114L.
Local law enforcement confirmed that crash sites were quickly secured and the debris collected for further technical analysis. Authorities lauded the prompt action of security forces, noting that swift engagement prevented potential harm to civilian populations.
Earlier this week, another Indian drone was shot down in Jassar village of Narowal district, where eyewitnesses observed the drone being destroyed shortly after 9:45am. On Thursday, a large-scale Indian drone incursion resulted in 25 drones being shot down by Pakistani forces. That attack, however, led to the martyrdom of three civilians and injuries to several others, including four Pakistani soldiers.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that all enemy drone activity is monitored continuously and responded to under a clearly defined operational strategy. The incidents underscore the rising tension in the region and highlight the effectiveness of Pakistan’s air surveillance and defence infrastructure in protecting its territorial integrity.
