Pak, US NSAs Meet in Geneva for Crucial Talks
Islamabad: In their first high-level face-to-face meeting since the Biden administration took office, the national security advisers (NSAs) of the United States and Pakistan met in Geneva.

In light of the present Afghan crisis, which many say may determine the future of Pak-US collaboration, the meeting between Pakistani NSA Dr. Moeed Yusuf and his US counterpart Jake Sullivan is considered as critical.
The meeting is being kept under wraps, and neither party has yet provided an explanation for why they chose a third nation.

The conference appears to be necessary given the impasse in Afghanistan that has resulted from the lack of progress in intra-Afghan negotiations.
As a result of the prospect of greater instability posed by the US troop departure, Washington and other regional nations are eager to reach a political agreement before the last US soldier departs the war-torn nation by September 11.
According to speculation, the NSA traveled to Geneva with a brief outlining the nation’s strategy for enhancing relations with the US beyond Afghanistan.
