Pakistan and China confirm strong military ties on PLA's 98th anniversary

The chief guest during the celebration of the 98th founding day of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China was General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC).

Senior military and civilian officials, members of the media, corporate executives, and civil society members attended the ceremony in Islamabad, demonstrating the widespread support for the Pakistan-China collaboration.

General Mirza commended the PLA’s ranks, the Chinese people, and the country’s military leadership. He praised the PLA’s crucial role in propelling China’s swift modernisation and development under President Xi Jinping’s direction, establishing the nation as a major pillar of peace, stability, and prosperity.

The CJCSC stressed the “iron-clad brotherhood” between China and Pakistan in his speech, stating a shared determination to increase collaboration in all areas.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast dedication to enhancing cooperation on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), strengthening defence ties, and fostering regional stability and prosperity, as well as to the safety of Chinese nationals in Pakistan.
