In an effort to boost Pakistan’s economy, the European Union (EU) and Pakistan have inked a €20 million deal.
Dr. Kazim Niaz, the secretary for economic affairs, and Dr. Riina Kionka, the ambassador of the European Union to Pakistan, reportedly signed the deal on Thursday.
The €20 million grant will be used to enhance governance and establish a more favourable business environment, according to the Economic Affairs Division (EAD).
“This initiative’s goal is to make small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) more competitive,” an EAD official stated.
Secretary Niaz thanked the EU for its ongoing cooperation and support.
The program is completely in line with the objectives of the “Uraan Pakistan” concept, he said.
