Pakistan has firmly reiterated its commitment to peace amid rising tensions with India, with the Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) stating there is no room for war between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. Addressing a press conference, the DG ISPR emphasized that any armed conflict would have devastating consequences for the region, potentially affecting the lives of over 1.6 billion people. He highlighted Pakistan’s mature and responsible approach in response to increasing hostilities, underscoring that those advocating for war are pursuing narrow, self-serving agendas rather than the greater good.
The DG ISPR stressed that peace remains in the best interest of both nations. He criticized India’s attempts to frame the Kashmir conflict as an internal matter, reaffirming that the dispute is internationally recognized and must be resolved under the United Nations Charter and in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiri people. He condemned the ongoing oppression in Indian-administered Kashmir, pointing to the destruction of thousands of homes and forced demographic changes that continue to raise serious international concerns.

In relation to the Indus Waters Treaty, the military spokesperson noted that Pakistan’s position is clear and does not require further commentary from the armed forces. He also dismissed speculation surrounding recent ceasefire developments, asserting that Pakistan did not request a ceasefire and that India had, in fact, initiated the de-escalation process. Pakistan, he said, communicated to its allies that it would not engage in dialogue without a clear and fair response from the other side.
Addressing rumors about the presence of an Indian pilot in Pakistan’s custody, the DG ISPR confirmed that no such individual is being held. He further stated that Pakistan has not violated the Line of Control (LoC) and remains committed to peace, while reserving the right to respond decisively to any act of aggression. The spokesperson acknowledged that recent Indian attacks caused some infrastructural and aircraft damage, but assured the public that the damage was minimal and repairs are underway.
The DG ISPR concluded by commending the professionalism of both militaries and noted that restraint was exercised to prevent escalation. Pakistan’s response, he said, reflected national unity and demonstrated a commitment to preserving regional stability.
