Rawalpindi: In a strong and clear message to India, Pakistan’s military leadership on Friday reiterated its firm commitment to peace, stability, and prosperity, while affirming that any attempt by India to impose war would be met with a “sure and decisive” response. The announcement came following a Special Corps Commanders’ Conference (SCCC) chaired by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ).

The forum reviewed the prevailing regional security environment and pledged to uphold Pakistan’s sovereignty in alignment with the aspirations of the nation. It warned against India’s deliberate destabilization strategies, vowing to counter both state-sponsored and proxy threats with resolve and clarity.

The military high command expressed deep concern over India’s continued human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), particularly after the Pahalgam incident, and condemned the targeting of civilians along the Line of Control (LoC) by Indian forces. These actions, the forum noted, are dangerous provocations that escalate tensions in the region and would be met with proportionate responses.

The forum accused India of following a consistent pattern of exploiting crises for domestic political and military gains, citing the 2019 Pulwama attack and the subsequent revocation of Article 370 as precedents. It stated that the recent Pahalgam incident seems aimed at diverting Pakistan’s attention from the western border and economic progress, warning that such tactics would not succeed.

Concerns were also raised about India’s alleged efforts to weaponize water by undermining the Indus Waters Treaty, a move that Pakistan considers a direct threat to the livelihoods of over 240 million people. The military leadership also claimed to possess credible evidence of Indian intelligence and military agencies orchestrating terrorist activities within Pakistan, branding these acts as violations of international norms.

COAS Asim Munir commended the professionalism, morale, and preparedness of Pakistan’s armed forces and stressed the importance of proactive vigilance across all operational fronts. He expressed full confidence in the country’s defense capabilities and reaffirmed the army’s determination to safeguard the nation against all threats.

The conference concluded with a strong message of unity between the military and the people of Pakistan, emphasizing readiness and resolve to counter any aggression and ensure lasting peace in the region.
