Pakistan Become No. 1 ODI Team for First Time in ICC Rankings
On Friday in Karachi, Pakistan defeated New Zealand by 102 runs to take a 4-0 lead in the ongoing five-match ODI series.
Pakistan has ascended to the top spot in the ODI team rankings for the first time since the ICC recognised the rankings in January 2005 after defeating the Kiwis in the fourth ODI. They have improved upon their third-place finish from January 2007.
Pakistan were fifth on the ODI rankings before the series started with a rating of 106.

The Men in Green are currently rated at 113.483, surpassing both Australia (113.286) and India (113.282). (112.638).
But, Pakistan must win the fifth and final ODI on Sunday, May 7, in order to maintain its lead. If they lose the last ODI, they would drop to No. 3 and Australia will retake the top spot.
If Pakistan wins the fourth ODI and the fifth game is called off or ends in a tie, they will still be in first place.
