As of this year, Pakistan is the fifth-largest producer of sesame seeds globally, with exports exceeding four hundred million dollars. The Ministry of National Food Security and Research emphasizes how important sesame is to Pakistan’s agricultural system as a cash crop.

This achievement is a result of the well-coordinated efforts of the provinces, in collaboration with the Ministry of National Food Security, and with funding from the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP)-funded National Oilseeds Enhancement Program.

The strategic plans and cooperative initiatives have been crucial in improving sesame output and establishing Pakistan as a significant player in the global sesame export market. This year, sesame exports have surpassed $400 million.
