Pakistan Earns $1,523Mn by Providing IT Services to Countries

Islamabad: The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reports that Pakistan’s IT sector earned $1,523.280 million by offering IT services to numerous countries during the first seven months of 2022–23.

Pakistan’s IT industry is growing. In comparison to the prior year, the calculated represented growth is 2.38 percent. Computer services exported by the nation increased by 2.87%, from $1,191.575 million to $1,225.730 million.

While exports of hardware consultancy services increased by a staggering 158.07%, from $1.357 million to $3.502 million, exports of software consultancy services also increased by 5.57%, from $430.309 million to $454.283 million. The outcomes demonstrate Pakistan’s IT sector’s success and the confidence the global market has in it.

Computer software-related exports and imports increased by 11.89%, from $312.484 million to $349.635 million. Additionally, the exports of maintenance and repair services increased from $0.770 million to $1.594 million, demonstrating an increase in demand for Pakistan’s IT services.

The call center industry increased by 2.30%, from $118.669 million to $121.398 million, while other telecommunications services decreased by 0.55%, from $174.511 million to $173.552 million, contributing to the sector’s overall growth of 0.60%. This demonstrates that Pakistan’s telecom industry is expanding quickly.

Nevertheless, the exports from other computer-related industries fell by 6.70%, from $446.655 million to $416.716 million. Similarly, throughout the review period, exports of information services decreased by 16.40%, from $3.110 million to $2.600 million.
