Pakistan Hosting England Cricket Team After 17 Years

Beginning with the first T20I on September 20 in Karachi, England is touring Pakistan for seven T20Is and three Test matches. It’s interesting to note that this will be England’s first trip to Pakistan in the past 17 years.

Karachi will host the first four T20 International matches, while Lahore will host the final three. After that, each team competes in a three-match test series at Rawalpindi, Multan, and Katachi. England is visiting the nation for the first time since 2005.

The last time England won a Test match in Pakistan was back in 2000, when Nasser Hussain was the captain. Pakistan defeated England 2-0 in the 2005 Test series. The two nations’ cricketing links have been welcomed to resume by dignitaries and board members. In 2021, Pakistan last traveled to England. International cricket is once again being played in Pakistan thanks to England. Australia just

The Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore will host the final four games, with the first four taking place at the National Stadium in Karachi.

But according to a source, the PCB had originally planned to play these seven T20I matches in a number of Pakistani cities, including more intimate venues like Multan and Faisalabad.

Sadly, the panel chose to turn down the plea. All seven T20I Series games would now be played in just two or three illustrious grounds.

Karachi and Lahore serve as the two main filming locations for the series, with Rawalpindi serving as a backup. However, given that England is returning to Pakistan after a 17-year hiatus, there will undoubtedly be sizable crowds for the matches even in Karachi and Lahore.

The source also mentioned that the ECB has already received a tentative proposal of places and dates, and that the PCB anticipates a delegation to visit somewhere between July and August.

The series is set to start on September 20 and conclude on October 2 and will take place before England leaves for Australia to compete in the men’s T20 World Cup.

It is important to take note of the fact that England will be visiting Pakistan for the first time in 17 years.

Ticket prices Announced for England vs Pakistan T20I Series

The Pakistan Cricket Board announced the ticket prices for the seven-match T20I series between Pakistan and England, which will be played in Karachi from September 20–25 and in Lahore from September 28–October 2.

Tickets will be made available online at PCB’s Bookme.com site on Wednesday at 10 a.m. EasyPaisa, JazzCash, credit cards, and Nift are all acceptable forms of payment. The help line can be reached at 03137786888.

For matches in Karachi, the set price range is between Rs. 250 and Rs. 1500.

The PCB has previously announced that the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund will get a portion of the first T20I’s gate receipts. The Lahore T20Is are currently available for a very affordable price range of Rs. 500 to Rs. 3,000.

Usman Waheed, Director of Commercial, stated that England will be visiting Pakistan for the first time in 17 years and that these matches will act as a buildup to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in October. The tickets are inexpensive because we want as many fans as possible to watch these matches live and see some of the top short-format cricketers from both teams. We also want to encourage families to come out in large numbers to support both teams and cricket in general.

All Karachi cricket fans and watchers have the chance to aid those affected by the catastrophe caused by the monsoon rain and floods by making a donation during the first T20I. They can help the PCB contribute a sizable amount to the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund by buying tickets. “Cricket unites our nation, and now is the time to show that we stand together in these difficult and challenging times,” Usman Waheed concluded.

England had originally planned to travel to Pakistan in October of last year, but they decided to postpone their brief trip after New Zealand abruptly cancelled, citing security concerns.

The first Twenty20 International between the two nations will take place in Pakistan on Tuesday.

Eight prior “home” matches between the two teams took place in the UAE at neutral sites, with England triumphing five times and Pakistan twice. One game has been tied thus far.

Both nations are experiencing melancholy when the series is being played. Pakistan’s flood disaster may have contributed to a dull atmosphere, but the country’s citizens are still anticipating a historic series.

Security Measures for England Cricket Team Visit

Since the national players were forbidden from making any needless moves or engaging with any unauthorized people while staying at a local hotel in Karachi, the Pakistan cricket team was placed under rigorous observation.

The national players were unable to leave the hotel on their own due to the security routine established by the law enforcement organizations. Outsiders are not permitted for players to interact with.

The sources claim that the players are even forbidden from buying food for delivery online. The players had previously been subjected to such rigorous limitations when PCB implemented a bio-secure bubble policy during the Covid-19 pandemic.

For the first four games of the series, which start tomorrow, both teams will receive presidential-level security procedures while they are in Karachi. Heavy security contingents will be stationed on the teams’ journeys and around the National Stadium as part of foolproof security arrangements for the matches.
