Pakistan, IMF Agree to Create Asset Declaration System
Islamabad: By the end of June, Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will have established an asset disclosure system. In this regard, the government will set up a strong asset declaration system with a wide range of assets, such as those that are beneficially held or situated abroad, filed with a single federal agency.

The public will have access to this data electronically, and it will be efficiently validated and searchable as well.
A report claims that the IMF is carrying out the second review cycle as part of the UNCAC implementation mechanism and will publish the full report, which will include the conclusions, analyses, and suggestions for enhancing the anti-corruption system.

According to the report, NAB is also designated as a beneficiary and seeking authority for international cooperation in the field of anti-corruption under the Mutual Legal Assistance Act of 2020. NAB is negotiating memorandums of understanding for information sharing with a number of foreign law enforcement agencies.
Additionally, the IMF is committed to helping Pakistan improve the efficiency of the Financial Monitoring Unit by guaranteeing its fiscal independence and providing it with enough financial and human resources to enhance the dissemination of financial intelligence to support corruption investigations.
