The Pakistan Consulate General Jeddah has officially launched e-passport services for overseas Pakistanis, introducing a more secure and modern travel document system.
According to officials, the new service allows Pakistanis living abroad to access advanced passports equipped with enhanced security and biometric features.
The e-passport includes a microchip that securely stores personal and biometric data, along with laser-printed information to reduce the risk of forgery. These upgrades bring Pakistani passports in line with international security standards.
Authorities said the new system will also make immigration processes faster and more efficient, helping travelers move through airports with greater ease.
With the launch of this service, overseas Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia can now apply for and receive e-passports directly through the consulate in Jeddah, eliminating the need to travel back to Pakistan for updated documentation.
Officials added that the initiative is part of broader efforts to modernize passport services and improve convenience for Pakistanis living abroad.
