Pakistan a Home of Half of Fortune 500 Chinese Enterprises
More than half of the Fortune Global 500 firms from China for 2021 have invested in or associated with Pakistan, reflecting their faith in the country’s economic development.

More than fifty percent of the 143 Chinese enterprises on the list conduct business in Pakistan, according to the most recent data.
The Fortune Global 500 list for 2021 had 143 Chinese companies, including those from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) and Taiwan, placing China at the top of the list for the second consecutive year. In 2020, there were 133 Chinese companies on the list, for the first time exceeding the United States.
State Grid placed second, only behind Walmart, the world’s largest retailer. State Grid Corporation of China and China National Petroleum & Sinopec Group rounded out the top ten Chinese firms. The Matiari-Lahore high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission project is likewise managed by the State Grid Corporation of China.

Huawei, Lenovo, and Xiaomi have risen to prominence as mobile phone manufacturers. Since previous year, Huawei has moved from 49th to 44th place. Lenovo Group is ranked 159th, 65 places higher than the previous year.
Since 2015, Huawei, rated number 44, has partnered with Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission. (HEC).
