Islamabad is the only country in South Asia and one of the eighteen economies in the world to have improved its World Bank Index on Women, Business, and Law. Pakistan’s index ranking increased from 55.6 to 58.8 as a result of changes aimed at promoting gender equality.

The economy of the nation has been trending downward in recent years. But in terms of women’s equality, the rule of law, and ease of doing business, things have greatly improved. The only nation in South Asia to have index improvements is Pakistan.
The World Bank Index on Women, Business, and Law includes eight categories: assets, pensions, marriage, motherhood, entrepreneurship, mobility, and salary.
