Pakistan Launches Its First-Ever Digital Census in March 2023
Lahore: Pakistan has started its first-ever digital population and housing census, according to news reports from March 1. Before to this year’s legislative elections, an attempt is being undertaken to securely collect demographic information on every person.

The population of 207 million was estimated by the 2017 census, which will be updated with information from the digital count. Also, it intends to increase security and stop the mayhem described in the census of 2021 from happening again. The results of the manually done count were never made public because of complaints about errors and exclusion.

The digital census is being conducted by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics under tight security, and it has been announced that the results will be made public the next month. Personnel from the census dispersed across Pakistan to acquire the data. In addition to making policy choices on things like education and health, information will be used during the forthcoming legislative elections.
Transgender people will be included in the census; they are largely disregarded in this impoverished Islamic nation. According to human rights organizations, Pakistan is home to 10,000 transgender people.
