The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast predominantly hot and dry weather across most parts of the country as Ramadan begins, with warmer conditions expected during the initial days of fasting.

According to PMD Deputy Director Irfan Virk, there is minimal likelihood of rainfall during the first 10 days of Ramadan. Daytime weather is projected to remain largely dry in most regions.

In cities such as Lahore and Islamabad, temperatures are expected to remain below 30°C at the start of the holy month. However, southern areas of the country are likely to experience higher temperatures.

Parts of Sindh and southern Punjab may see temperatures climb to around 35°C, making fasting more challenging compared to central and northern regions.

There is a slight chance of rainfall in Karachi. Senior PMD official Anjum Nazir said a fresh westerly wave could enter the country, potentially bringing light showers to the port city. However, officials cautioned that any rainfall is unlikely to alter the prevailing warm and dry conditions significantly.

In Karachi, temperatures during the first 20 days of Ramadan are expected to range between 32°C and 34°C. Overall conditions are projected to remain relatively moderate despite the possibility of brief showers.

Meteorologists have indicated that temperatures are likely to increase further during the last 10 days of Ramadan. Authorities have advised citizens to take necessary precautions during fasting hours as hotter weather is expected toward the end of the month.
