Pakistan Railways Plans to Connect KCR with BRT Lines
According to press sources, Pakistan Railways intends to connect the city’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lines to the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) to reduce traffic congestion.

During their debate with the Senate Standing Committee on Railways, Pakistan Railways representatives submitted a plan to connect a circular railway line with five BRT lines, which will increase the route’s utility and efficiency.
Some committee senators recommended linking KCR to the airport to facilitate local and international travel during the meeting. Officials from Pakistan Railways also discussed encroachments on railway property in Sindh.
Importantly, BRT projects are constructing 112.9 kilometers of highways. Currently, only Green Line will provide these services.
According to the announcement, upon reopening, the train would accommodate 475,000 passengers daily. 1.1 million individuals per day will utilize the programme after ten years.
