Pakistan Railways Trial Run Between Newly Linked Tracks A Success
Karachi: Pakistan Railways has successfully linked the tracks of Groyne Yard with the old Keamari Line in order to improve efficiency in the movement of container trains and traffic.

To that end, a light engine trial run along the newly connected tracks was conducted, and the same was successful.
Pakistan Railways made improving the Groyne Yard at the South Asia Pacific Terminal (SAPT) a major priority in order to enhance the movement and management of container trains.
Over the previous month, Karachi Railways’ Divisional Superintendent Mohammad Hanif Gul made two trips to the yard. Also, he had in-depth conversations about the revitalization of the yard with Raymond Chen, SAPT’s general manager.
Transshipments from the yard will start soon, according to Mr. Gul, now that all minor and major rehabilitation works have been finished and the first trial run was successful.
