Pakistan has emerged as a global leader in cryptocurrency adoption, with the country’s Finance Ministry revealing that annual crypto transactions have reached an estimated $300 billion. The nation now boasts 25 million active crypto users, underlining its rapidly growing digital economy.
This development follows a significant agreement between the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC) and the decentralized finance (DeFi) platform World Liberty Financial (WLF). The partnership aims to further accelerate crypto adoption in Pakistan, focusing on fostering innovation and regulatory development in the blockchain space.

The Finance Ministry highlighted Pakistan’s demographic advantage, noting that over 64 percent of its population is under the age of 30. This youthful population, coupled with high mobile penetration and a thriving freelance economy, positions Pakistan as a key player in the global Web3 landscape.
As part of the PCC and WLF collaboration, both organizations will work together to introduce regulatory sandboxes for testing blockchain-based financial products. The initiative will also support the growth of DeFi protocols in a responsible manner and explore the tokenization of real-world assets such as real estate and commodities.
Additionally, the partnership will focus on expanding the use of stablecoins for remittances and trade, which are vital components of Pakistan’s economy. The agreement also includes strategic advisory on the development of blockchain infrastructure and staying aligned with global regulatory trends.
With government support and increasing interest from international blockchain entities, Pakistan is poised to become a hub for digital finance innovation in the region.
