Pakistan has strongly rejected recent statements made by India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Pakistan says these comments are provocative, false, and harmful.
A spokesperson from Pakistan’s Foreign Office, Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan, said such comments are not helpful and go against the purpose of peaceful talks. He said India’s leaders are using angry language and trying to mislead the world.
Pakistan believes that India is making these statements to take attention away from the serious human rights violations in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The spokesperson said India has been involved in a negative campaign against Pakistan and has not stopped its support for terrorism.
He also said that Pakistan is always ready for peace and talks, but will protect its borders if necessary. He asked India to stop blaming Pakistan and to look at its own actions.
Pakistan also rejected the Indian Prime Minister’s claim that Pakistan was involved in the Pahalgam attack, saying there is no evidence to support this.
Pakistan reminded the world that Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed area, and its future must be decided according to United Nations resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
Even though India talks about development in the region, Pakistan said the reality is different. There is:
- A heavy presence of the Indian military
- People’s rights being taken away
- Many arrests without reason
- Attempts to change the population, which goes against international laws
Pakistan said it will continue to support the people of Kashmir in their struggle for freedom and justice, and called on the UN and human rights groups to take action and help the Kashmiri people gain their right to choose their future.
