Pakistan continued its impressive performance at the Asian Masters Weightlifting Championship 2025 in Qatar, securing two more medals on the second day of the event. With these wins, the national medal tally now stands at three, reflecting the strength and dedication of the country’s veteran weightlifters.

Rashid Khan, competing in the 89kg category for the 50+ age group, delivered a standout performance to claim the gold medal. Demonstrating exceptional form and consistency, the experienced lifter managed a total lift of 170kg—80kg in the snatch and 90kg in the clean and jerk. His victory placed him at the top of the podium, adding a second gold to Pakistan’s haul.

In another strong showing, Abdul Malik captured the bronze medal in his category. He lifted a combined total of 193kg, with 93kg in the snatch and 100kg in the clean and jerk. His performance secured a well-earned place among the championship’s top lifters and further highlighted Pakistan’s growing presence in the Masters weightlifting scene.

Earlier in the competition, Maqsood Rathore had kicked off the tournament with a gold medal on the opening day, setting a winning tone for the rest of the team.

The Asian Masters Weightlifting Championship is recognized as a premier event for seasoned lifters from across the continent.
