Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir delivered a compelling and unapologetically nationalistic speech at the inaugural Overseas Pakistanis’ Convention in Islamabad, drawing attention both at home and abroad. Speaking to a packed audience of Pakistani diaspora from nearly 60 countries, General Asim laid out a bold vision for the country’s future, reaffirming Pakistan’s ideological, strategic, and military direction.
General Asim’s address went beyond ceremonial greetings, delivering a hard-hitting message centered on national pride, ideological clarity, and unwavering commitment to Pakistan’s core principles. Defining Pakistan as a “hard state,” the COAS clarified that strength lies in the consistent application of law and the constitution across all institutions. He stated that Pakistan is already on a path to resurgence, with the only question being the pace of its rise.
Touching on the growing concern of fifth-generation warfare, General Asim criticized the casual spread of misinformation through social media. He denounced the “forwarded as received” culture, urging citizens to verify information before sharing. Citing the Quran, he emphasized the moral responsibility of individuals in the digital age.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir, General Asim reiterated that the region remains the country’s “jugular vein” and a non-negotiable issue. He made it clear that Pakistan will never abandon its commitment to Kashmir, regardless of the cost.
