He clarified that the program is an aspect of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s plan to encourage and increase the use of EVs in Pakistan. According to him, some local producers are already making electric two- and three-wheelers, and some are exported abroad.
The government has set aside approximately $4 billion to assist the EV industry under the direction of Prime Minister Shehbaz. A certain amount of this money will be used to provide incentives for electric two-wheelers, lowering their cost for everyone.
In addition, the minister declared that 100 electric bikes will be awarded to Pakistan’s best students in recognition of their academic success. The government also wants to install 40 charging stations along motorways and another 300 along highways and strategic areas to help EV adoption.
