An important milestone in Pakistan’s space technology program will be reached on October 19 with the launch of HS-1, the nation’s first hyperspectral satellite, from China.
Suparco claims that the satellite will help with environmental monitoring, urban development, and agriculture. Crop yields are predicted to rise by 15% to 20% as a result of HS-1. Additionally, it will help predict landslides, floods, and other natural calamities.
According to some, the hyperspectral mission is a significant turning point in the National Space Policy and Vision 2047. Pakistan’s space program is moving into a new phase that is centered on contemporary applications, according to Suparco.
