Pakistan wants to develop the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC) from a business standpoint, according to Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb on Thursday.
The finance minister referred to population and climate change as issues of Pakistan’s survival during a climate finance conference held in Islamabad by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI). He said that shortly, an ordinance establishing a Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority will be passed.
According to the finance minister, Pakistan will receive $2 billion a year from successful financing initiatives. Aurangzeb stated: “A $1.3 billion climate financing agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has been concluded.”
The minister stated that a 10-year Country Partnership Framework (CPF) with the World Bank has already been finalized and that the ADB has announced $50 million for Pakistan.
