A two-week joint counter-terrorism exercise between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates has successfully concluded in Tarbela, focusing on improving hostage rescue operations and enhancing cooperation between the two nations’ elite forces.

The training exercise, named Jalmood-I, brought together Pakistan’s Special Services Group (SSG) and the UAE’s Presidential Guards. It aimed to improve coordination and tactical response in high-risk situations, especially those involving terrorism and hostage scenarios.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the exercise was designed to strengthen mutual understanding and joint operational capabilities. Both forces practiced modern counter-terrorism drills, sharing techniques and experiences to handle complex security challenges effectively.

The closing ceremony was attended by the General Officer Commanding of the SSG as the guest of honour. Senior military officials and diplomats from the United Arab Emirates also participated, highlighting the strong and growing defence ties between the two countries.

Officials noted that exercises like Jalmood-I help boost readiness and cooperation between Pakistan and UAE forces. The initiative reflects both nations’ commitment to regional security and their shared goal of combating terrorism through professional training and collaboration.
