Pakistan Welcomes Afghanistan’s Interest in CPEC
According to media reports, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed praised Afghanistan’s ambition to join the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project in Islamabad.

According to the information provided, the minister indicated that the CPEC was the country’s economic lifeline. He went on to remark that it was an optimistic indicator that Afghanistan and Pakistan have the same view of China.
In a previous statement, Afghanistan referred to China as their “most significant partner” and requested Beijing’s assistance in rebuilding the country and exploiting its huge copper resource in order to remove widespread hunger and boost economic growth.
Afghanistan supports China’s One Belt, One Road program, which will link China to Europe, Africa, and Asia via a network of railways, industrial parks, and roadways.

In addition, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid reiterated Pakistan’s support for peace, prosperity, and development in Afghanistan. The minister announced to the media that Afghanistan has guaranteed that its land will not be exploited against Pakistan’s interests.
