Pakistan’s women’s national football team got off to a dream start in the FIFA Series 2026, crushing the Turks and Caicos Islands 8-0 in Côte d’Ivoire — the biggest win in the country’s international football history.
It was also Pakistan’s first-ever match at a FIFA event, and the result surpassed their previous best, a 7-0 victory over the Maldives in September 2022.
The team dominated from the first whistle, playing with confidence and showing no signs of pressure despite the historic stage. Their eight-goal performance highlighted both their attacking strength and growing belief on the international scene.
Zahmena Malik, Mariam Mahmood, Nadia Khan, and Isra Khan each scored, while Aqsa Mushtaq and Layla Banaras netted two goals apiece to complete the emphatic win.
The result gives Pakistan a perfect start to the tournament and boosts morale as they aim to make a strong impression.
It also stands as a landmark moment for women’s football in Pakistan, with the team not only winning their FIFA debut but doing so in record-breaking fashion.
Pakistan will next face Mauritania on April 12, followed by a match against hosts Côte d’Ivoire on April 16.
