Pakistan’s opening batsman, Sahibzada Farhan, has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for February 2026 following his outstanding performance in the T20 World Cup held in Sri Lanka.
Farhan was the top run-scorer of the tournament, scoring 383 runs in seven matches at an impressive average of 76.60. His performance included two centuries and two half-centuries.
He scored at a strike rate of 160.25 and broke a long-standing record held by Virat Kohli for the most runs in a single edition of the T20 World Cup.
This is the first time Farhan has won an ICC monthly award. He is also the first Pakistani male cricketer to receive the award since Haris Rauf in November 2024.
During the tournament, Farhan became the first player to score two centuries in a single T20 World Cup, achieving the milestone against Namibia and Sri Lanka.
His strong performances also pushed him to a career-best second position in the ICC T20I batting rankings after his century against Sri Lanka in Pallekele.
Farhan was also part of a record 176-run partnership with Fakhar Zaman, the highest for any wicket in T20 international history. Despite a narrow five-run win against Sri Lanka in that match, Pakistan did not qualify for the semi-finals due to net run rate.
