Pakistani Observatory Captures ‘Cheshire Cat’ in Astronomical Feat
Pakistani astronomers have accomplished a rare feat by capturing a gravitational lensing object, according to reports from a shared blog.
Shaheer Niazi, a member of the team, was able to capture a cluster of galaxies known as the Cheshire Cat from Earth, which is a remarkable achievement as only a handful of astronomers have been able to do so thus far.
While Space Telescopes like Hubble have provided detailed images of the object, Shaheen explained to the media that it took him approximately 17 hours to capture the faint object, which was not detectable by a powerful telescope.

He described this as a milestone, given the limitations of Pakistan’s first high-tech space observatory located in Bela, Balochistan.
