Pakistan’s Population Crosses 241 Million with 2.55% Growth Rate
The results of the most recent digital census, which the Council of Common Interests (CCI) certified, show that Pakistan’s population has reached 241.49 million, with a growth rate of 2.55 percent.
Chief Ministers from every province who attended the CCI meeting on Saturday under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif endorsed the outcomes.

According to the breakdown of census results released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), Sindh has a population of 55.69 million people, followed by Punjab with 127.68 million people.
Balochistan has a population of 14.89 million compared to 40.85 million in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The most recent census puts the population of Islamabad at 2.36 million.
The country had 132.35 million people according to PBS data as of the 1998 census. In 2017, there were 207.68 million people living there. The growth rate was 2.69 in 1998, dropped to 2.40 in 2017, and is now 2.55 according to the most recent census.

According to the data, 38.82 percent of Pakistan’s population resides in urban regions, compared to 61.18 percent who reside in rural areas.
84.999% of people in KP reside in rural regions. Balochistan has 69.04 percent of its entire population living in rural areas. In Punjab, 59.30% of the population lives in rural areas, compared to 46.27% in Sindh. Rural areas are home to 53.10 percent of the population of Islamabad.
