Pakistan’s left-arm wrist-spinner Sufiyan Muqeem has reportedly been picked up by the newly formed Kingsmen Hyderabad ahead of the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11), with sources claiming the franchise has signed him in the Diamond category.
If confirmed, the move would mark a new chapter in Muqeem’s PSL career and significantly boost Kingsmen Hyderabad’s bowling strength as they prepare for their debut season. The reported signing suggests the new franchise is keen to build a competitive core early, especially around impact bowlers capable of controlling the middle overs and striking at the death.
Muqeem previously represented Peshawar Zalmi, making his PSL debut in 2023 and featuring in five matches that season. His reported switch indicates that Kingsmen Hyderabad are targeting proven T20 performers rather than waiting for the player auction alone to shape their squad.
Despite being regarded as one of Pakistan’s most exciting spin prospects, Muqeem was not included in Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2026 squad, a decision that sparked discussion given his recent performances.
The spinner has been in strong form in overseas leagues, particularly in the Bangladesh Premier League, where his match-winning spells for Rangpur Riders helped turn games and further enhanced his reputation as a high-impact T20 bowler.
His rising stock is also reflected in county cricket, with Derbyshire Falcons confirming his signing for the first half of the 2026 Vitality Blast. The move reunites him with head coach Mickey Arthur, under whom he previously worked during his time at Rangpur Riders.
